In February, 2003, Forbairt na Rosann started an initiative to have a Fixed Wireless Access Broadband service brought to Dungloe and to the public of the Rosses.  This was done in conjunction with eircom as a partner and with help from CLAR and administration from BMW.  The service was successful and eircom launched it on the 19th April, 2004.  This service is provided to Arainn Mór, Burtonport, and all areas within line-of-site up to 15Km from the Mast.

There are 50 telephone lines using this service at this time.  That is the full number that this service can take.  Currently, if a new customer wants to use this service, an existing customer must terminate/loose their service. Dungloe had a heavy demand and it was necessary to move a step ahead to ASDL.  The FWA service is changing now to accommodate the area around Dungloe.  The FWA service is changing now to accommodate the area around Dungloe.  Along with this, there will be new customers added inside the 4 Km, that can not get the service through having no direct line-of-site to the mast on the Fair Hill.

Along with that, new customers for the FWA, that are further out than the 4 Km from the town, but, inside the 15 Km, and within direct line-of-site of the mast and that could not get on the scheme before, because there were only 50 places in total, can now get on the scheme.
